Cedarcrest-Southmoor is a caring, united community of lifelong learners. Our students, teachers, parents and adopters work together to enable each child to shine in his or her own way. We truly believe the old African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child."
Cedarcrest-Southmoor is an elementary school serving students in grades Pre-K through 5. Our school has participated in the nationally recognized Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) since 2003.

The mission of Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary School is to foster community, home and school interaction in stimulating the creative, critical thinking necessary for developing each child’s unique potential in becoming a responsible, productive citizen in our ever-changing world.

“My daughter is in the 3rd grade. She has been in this school since kindergarten and it is the greatest public school in this parish. There are no gimmicks the teachers genuinely care about the students and there achievements test scores are a plus, but the child is always first. I would recommend this school to anyone.”
